Day of the Dead Festival Poster 2014

Recently  I was commissioned to design a poster for the Day of the Dead Festival in Melbourne. This is  resuuuuuuuult, taaaa - daaaaa. Didn't mind how it turned out. It definitely was a challenge, happy with the colour palette I came up with but I had compositional problems which we're only mostly resolved by the end, however the longer I look at the poster, the problems I see - ahhhhhhh the lyf of a designer.

Beauty inspiration: 90s edition

From the likes of young Giselle, Helena Christiansen and baby Kate Moss; those dark defined eyebrows and well lined brown hued lips give a darker polished feel. Not to mention those well groomed, thicker eyebrows sported by Brooke Shields proved to be a beauty trend that will never go out of style.

I've recently been using castor oil on my brows to encourage growth and coconut oil on my skin for softness ! So far the coconut oil is doing wonders! Shall keep you guys updated.

JUNE HIGHLIGHTS

Witnessing spectacular sunsets on my walk home seriously are the highlight of the day - and as you can see, has inspired a months worth of ideas and colour schemes. Nature, you know whats up.

Made just a quick graphic that I had stuck in my head and just needed to let it out. I've been completely missing my festivals and silly summer season, so for now, I can dance with my designs.

This months mood board featuring fresh kicks, pale (faux) fur, lazy days in bed and cute pups.

Lust item: this beautiful mauve bralette, which I have no idea is from *sadface emoji*

Went solo painting down at some free walls just a few blocks from my house. Practising calligraphy and paint techniques.

Graphic design experiment - I am slowing learning that things don't always have to be perfect / balanced and tasteful. Even though I wanted to correct a few things with this, I found it to be perfect the longer I looked at it.
